I teach IB History with a focus on Paper 2 essays, source work, and the IA. Most of my students come to me when they know the content but struggle to turn it into a clear argument. I use past prompts, examiner wording, and quick planning drills so lessons stay practical. My favourite units to teach are authoritarian states and Cold War case studies, especially when students need help comparing leaders without writing a narrative.

Hi, I’m an IB History tutor who likes keeping sessions fairly relaxed but focused. I usually start by looking at a student’s latest essay or IA draft, then we work out what the examiner would actually reward. I’m especially useful for students who feel buried under dates and historians. We cut that down into arguments they can use in Paper 2 and Paper 3, with a lot of practice on introductions and paragraph endings.

I have taught IB History for six years, including HL students preparing for History of the Americas. My lessons are built around essay structure, evidence selection, and command terms, rather than memorising long timelines. I also support IAs from research question to final reflection, with careful attention to source evaluation and academic writing. I’m strongest on US foreign policy and Cold War topics.

I tutor IB History online and mostly work with juniors and seniors who are trying to move from a 5 to a 6 or 7. I’m pretty direct in lessons: we mark sample paragraphs, fix thesis statements, and practise timed plans. I enjoy teaching civil rights, the Cold War, and independence movements because they give students plenty of room to argue, not just describe. I also help students make their notes shorter before mocks.

My background is in modern history, and I have several years’ experience helping IB students with Paper 1 sources and HL essays.
